This charming traditional brick Haddonfield home was designed with an eye towards simplicity with a modern edge.  The goal of the renovation for Merion was to preserve the traditional feel of the house while adding sophisticated colors to the interior and opening up the walls. Light colored wide plank flooring was chosen for the entirety of the downstairs with neutral walls to accentuate the natural light. The furniture was selected with the desire to stick with neutrals of tan and white and add pops of black. You will find hints of leather, shag, and whicker to bring interest to the simple larger pieces.   

 

Moving to the kitchen, leathered dark granite countertops, stainless steel Viking appliances, and a chic barn door on the pantry make the kitchen a cooks dream. Color is a must in every home so you will find a light blue/grey subway style backsplash with a boho vintage centerpiece above the stove that ties in the browns and tans.

A 2 story edition was built onto the back of the house to add a master bedroom and a family room expanding the house to 2,424 sq ft. A full 6 foot basement leaves room for storage or can be turned into a playroom.

Walking upstairs you will find 3 bedrooms, a convient 2nd floor laundry room, and the beautiful master bedroom. This floor has the same flooring as downstairs through the hallways and master, with neutral carpet in the other 3 bedrooms. Vaulted ceilings painted in a tranquil light blue bring the hints of color from the kitchen into the upstairs. Attention to detail is evident in the stylish mosaic tile  in the master shower showing us the balance of strong silver and dark stone with the otherwise light selections for furniture and colors. Classic materials are used in a modern way throughout.
